I’m Juliana. Late 20s-ish. Recently married. My sensitive, sexy history nerd Mark often exclaims “JU-lie.” I still shock him. Yes! Those are the basics.
Here’s more!:
A week after I started this blog, we found ourselves both out of work. We were in China last year, living in expat fantasyland, teaching and traveling to our little hearts’ content. We moved back to get married and moved to Chicago in December 2008. Here, the economy has knocked us both in the face with a Made-in-China baseball bat. It hurts. I worked at a grocery store for a month. Now I’m a mostly out-of-work writer. I scrape freelance jobs from hither and thither and yon. I thought I’d start a blog to see if our struggles in this shit economy might help stymie the divorce rate–namely ours. Welcome to my first year of marriage! Feel free to e-mail me at girlsgonesettled@gmail.com.

Here I am outside of Harbin China in 2008. That's a huge snow castle behind me, with a boob-licious Merwoman, natch!

Here is Mark at a Tiger farm in Harbin, China. That's a big hungry tiger in the background. The tiger wants to eat him. Everyone on our rickety bus was in treacherous peril but didn't seem to notice. Are you aware tigers can knock off a man's head with a swipe of the paw! They weren't!
